v Immediately following the accident Harper had one ambulance ride and two helicopter flights to ensure that she made it to the necessary hospitals in a timely fashion.
v Thus far, sweet Harper has endured four surgery’s .....
1. Attaching her hand to her abdomen to regenerate enough tissue growth to surround her three injured fingers
2. Detaching her hand from her abdomen, skin graft, and securing the skin/tissue around the three injured fingers
3. Since some of the skin died, she had to have the dead skin removed through a process called “debridement.” In addition, she had a second skin graft from her belly
4. Next scheduled surgery is Friday July 29th, at this point we are not exactly sure what the surgeon will want to do. However, a piece of bone on her pinky is exposed…. This has been a reoccurring issue throughout the last two surgery’s
v Unfortunately, this is not expected to be the last surgery. Minimally, she will have one more scheduled surgery. However, initially following the accident it was explained that Harper would have to complete three surgery’s total. As you can see, she has already surpassed that expectation. Clearly, it is hard to predict how one’s body will react and what necessary steps must be taken.
v In addition, once the surgeries have been completed, Harper will have to begin physical therapy. It is predicted to be three times a week
